Biography
Rodney Jordan is Chief Community Engagement Officer at the McKinley Megginson Group and a long-standing civic leader in Hampton Roads. He served on the Norfolk School Board representing Superward 7 from 2012 to 2025, holding the offices of Chair and Vice Chair, and was President of the Virginia School Boards Association from 2019 to 2020.
Jordan has served as a Commissioner on the Commonwealth of Virginia Commission on African American History Education, as Vice Chair and Board Member of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and as Vice Chair of Hampton Roads Ventures, a community development investment firm. A technology entrepreneur, he co-founded New Perspectives Technologies and the MELANET Information and Communications Network.
His recognitions include the Benjamin Elijah Mays Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Urban Boards of Education and the inaugural Mary Peake Excellence in Education Equity Award from the Virginia Department of Education.
